Kenko Pro1 Digital Filters Review

Hoya filters, along with B+W and Heliopan are often regarded as one of the best in terms of quality. What some people don't realise is that most Kenko filters are exactly the same as the Hoya ones. They are made in the same factory, with the same glass. The only difference is the packaging, as Hoya filters head to the US market, and Kenko ones to the Japanese market.

Some of the features of the Kenko Pro 1 digital series are:

  • Multiple coatings to prevent flare and ghosting
  • Black almite frame and black rimmed glass to prevent reflections
  • Slim design to prevent vignetting at wide angles
  • Knurled edge frame to aid with attachment and removal

The Pro 1 digital series are optimised for digital SLRs. They have a special coating on the internal element that passes reflections from the camera's sensory, improving their performance. I have been so impressed by these filters quality, and low cost that I highly recommend them to all DSLR users.  I source all my UV/CPL filters from the seller below - they are very reliable and the prices are very competitive.
